The Passing of Phyllis Lyon
LGBTQ rights pioneer Phyllis Lyon passed away in April 2020 due to natural causes; she was 95. From founding the Daughters of Bilitis (DOB), the first organization in the U.S. focused specifically on the civil equality of lesbians in 1955, to being the first same-sex couple to wed in San Francisco in 2008, Phyllis and her partner Del have been true civil rights icons.
To Phyllis and Del - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything.
